Inmarsat current fleet of 11-satellites already provides seamless mobile voice and data communications around the world, enabling users to make phone calls or connect to the internet – whenever and wherever they need – on land, at sea or in the air. All the Inmarsat satellites fly in geosynchronous orbit 37,786 km above the Earth and are controlled from Inmarsat headquarters in London via ground stations located around the globe. The Inmarsat-4 satellites established the world’s first global 3G network in 2009.
