This Ramadan, IEC Telecom Malaysia is proud to take part in a heartwarming tradition of sponsoring Raya cookies for children in orphanages across the country, in partnership with Multimedia University (MMU).
MMU first launched the initiative, Raya Cookies for the Orphanage, during the Covid-19 pandemic to ensure that children in care homes could still experience the warmth and sweetness of the festive season. What began as a response to difficult times has now grown into an annual tradition, which is a testament to the university’s commitment to nurturing a culture of giving and compassion among its students and partners.
This year, IEC Telecom Malaysia joins the effort for the first time, contributing to the sponsorship of cookies delivered to four orphanages during Ramadan. For a company whose core mission is to keep people connected to loved ones, to opportunities, to the world, this partnership holds a meaning that goes beyond festivity. Participating in this initiative is IEC Telecom’s way of extending the value beyond the digital world, reaching out to ensure the children feel seen, valued, and part of a wider community.
The cookies, baked and packaged by Lee Sha Cookies in collaboration with MMU students, were delivered to orphanages ahead of Hari Raya, bringing smiles and a touch of festive cheer to the children who received them.
IEC Telecom Malaysia looks forward to continuing this partnership in the years to come, as part of a broader commitment to being a meaningful presence not just in the telecommunications landscape, but in the communities it serves.
