IEC Telecom successfully participated at the recent ShipTech Forum (part of Seatrade Maritime Logistics Middle East) held during UAE Maritime Week in Dubai, UAE. IEC Telecom addressed a wide variety of evolving conversations in the regional maritime sector – safety, sustainability, innovation, and emerging technologies. At one of the ShipTech sessions, Nabil Ben Soussia, CEO – Asia, Middle East & CIS, IEC Telecom Group, shared insights on highly debated topics in digitalisation and connectivity. He said, “As digitalisation allows for better fleet management and improved operational efficiency, vessel owners reduce fuel consumption, resulting in decreased CO2 emissions. Satcom is a driving force behind digitalisation, as such, making a real contribution towards decarbonisation.” He also discussed the maritime sector’s upcoming adoption of direct-to-device (D2D) connectivity and LEO networks.
