IEC Telecom & Viasat to Showcase Resilient Multi-Orbit Connectivity at AidEx Nairobi 2026

IEC Telecom & Viasat to Showcase Resilient Multi-Orbit Connectivity at AidEx Nairobi 2026

With reliable connectivity playing a critical role in humanitarian operations, IEC Telecom, in strategic partnership with Viasat, will showcase advanced multi-orbit communication solutions at AidEx Nairobi 2026. While IEC Telecom is a traditional participant at the flagship event in Geneva, this year marks the company’s first participation in the Nairobi edition. The event will be held on 3–4 June 2026 at the Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya, bringing together leading stakeholders from across the aid and development sector.

Strategic Partnership with Viasat for Mission-Critical Environments

A key highlight of the showcase is the long-standing partnership with Viasat, a trusted GEO (Geostationary Orbit) connectivity provider. This collaboration delivers dependable GEO connectivity backed by Viasat’s ultra-reliable L-band network, enabling aid organisations to operate with total confidence in any environment. Furthermore, these solutions support government-grade security standards, ensuring that sensitive humanitarian data remains protected via advanced encryption methods.

Resilient Multi-Orbit Capabilities for Critical Missions

A primary focus for IEC Telecom this year is the deployment of multi-orbit connectivity solutions. Designed to support mission-sensitive operations, these solutions allow for the seamless integration of connectivity from multiple satellite providers. This multi-layered approach ensures always-on communications, providing a vital fail-safe for teams operating in remote or high-pressure environments where constant data access is a necessity.

By harmonising services from different satellite constellations—including high-speed LEO via Starlink and ultra-reliable L-band via Viasat—IEC Telecom empowers humanitarian organisations with the flexibility and redundancy required to maintain operational continuity.

The IEC Telecom team will be present throughout AidEx Nairobi 2026 to engage with industry stakeholders: Najwa Ayoub (Director of Business Development) and Mark Hawkins (Senior Humanitarian Technology Consultant).
